What Are Pavement Markings?

Pavement markings are the lines and arrows you see on the road and in parking lots. For example, a crosswalk is considered a pavement marking.

Pavement markings require durable materials and are primarily made with two types of paint: thermoplastic paint and water-based paint.

Gold Coast Pavers can handle all of your requirements for your next commercial pavement markings project with access to the suitable materials, equipment, and an expert team.

Thermoplastic Paint

Thermoplastic paint is highly reflective and durable and provides long-lasting effects for up to 10 years. However, the lifespan can shorten in higher traffic areas. The application process uses either a hot-applied or cold-applied approach that requires high-tech equipment for a higher-cost installation.

Water-Based Paint

Water-based paint is much less durable and the preferred option in lower-traffic areas. This is a widely available option and uses a higher volume due to the lower cost and ease of use for a quicker installation process.
